Koi Food - Majestic Koi

Koi Food

Food for thought...

Always try to purchase just enough that once a bag is opened, should be used within 3 months.

If you intend to keep food for longer periods of time, try refrigerating to keep from spoiling.

Store koi food in a cool dry place to keep from loosing nutritional value.

Seeing a Koi that is in your care thrive and become more beautiful as it matures, is undoubtedly one of the greatest joys of Koi keeping.

The key to this process is basic care, a healthy environment, and good diet.

To the right we have several choices of food that we have supplied to our   customers for years and have found them to be good solid food lines.

Here are some recommendations.

  • Below 50 degrees - - - Do not feed !!
  • 50 to 60 degrees  - - - 2-4 times a week
  • 60-85 degrees - - -  2-4 times daily
  • Above 85 degrees - - - Do not feed !!

Koi & Pond Tip of the Day
May 9th, 2008
For many of us, our ponds are beginning to warm (or will soon be). Water temperature, not the ambient air temperature, is the gauge for what to do and when to do it in regards to your pond. Water temperature should be checked at approximately 1 foot of depth. Avoid feeding your fish until the water temperature is consistently above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. This will also be the time to start adding spring maintenance bacteria and enzyme treatments.
